| Thanks for the pics* though I am unable to locate this power module. It's under the hood or somewhere under the dashboard. Fuses seem to be ok. I hope this is not some switch that failed, Parts for such a car are almost impossible to find by here
You (and this post readers) can see mine here... if you like http://www.forum-auto.com/automobiles-mythiques-exception/youngtimers/sujet391518.htm

| Wow! You collect them. By the way, it seems quite easy to you to find some. If you ever find some wrecked one, may be that you could think about me for rear and front over riders. It would nice to you to post some pictures of your Luce legato interiors. Do you know that we don't have a central arm rest on the back seat (either it is a hard-top or a sedan) as you see on a picture of mine. Strange japanese commercial politic on export markets. long ago I knew a person who owned a Capella (626) like your avatar's one, same color and with automatic gearbox. I have collected some Mazda too (all more than 30 years old and in good conditions) May be that I've posted some on the site... I don't remember. | |

| The original dash in my white 929L - no clock, no tacho, only AM radio. I changed the original burgundy coloured steering wheel to a Cosmo/RX5. It looks so much better. The modifications begin - i removed the clock and fitted a factory tacho and digital clock from an S2 929. I also changed the fuel and temperature gauges to S2 specification - I like these better. A genuine Luce hand brake lever now fitted to match the steering wheel. The latest modification - factory Panasonic stereo and cassette | |

| The main advantage of the Cosmo steering wheel on my concern is that it is much better pleasant to handle with the wood though it is more slippery. I got the same on mine, but I like the "4 horn buttons" of the Luce Legato. Unfortunately the texture of the steering wheel is solid but hideous to the touch, almost sticky - like some video gamepads a few years ago , especially by wet weather and extremely messy. Oh, by the way you don't have a strange knob under the dashboard on the right side of the box sleeve (for me it's on the left) I just realized now that it modifies the activity of the air conditioning compressor . But I do not really understand the usefulness. I suspect its position to have consequences at least on my defogging. | |

- I understand exactly! To remedy the sticky feel - a solvent like Brake Kleen or Prepsol removes a lot of the residue from the steering wheel surface. Like you, I prefer the feel and look of the Cosmo steering wheel, and, these cars are not sports cars so I am not worried about losing control of the steering wheel because I am not driving it fast.

A picture of it please?
There are generally two options/controllers you talk about.
1. Thermostatic controller - by turning the dial, this alters the cooling temperature (like in a refrigerator). The effect is the compressor cycles sooner because it does not need to be so cold.
2. Idle Cut-out Controller: In many of the early cars there was not a way to increase the idle speed when the AC turns on. The box you may have, is connected to the negative side of the ignition coil. By turning the dial, it alters what engine RPM the compressor disengages at low speed/idle. Normally, these were adjusted to approximately 1000 RPM - to disengage the compressor out before the car began to idle. It was not a good idea for a hot day and you are stuck in traffic - the AC will not engage unless you rest your foot on the accelerator.
- I am lucky, my 929 has factory AC with the correct Fast Idle Control Device (FICD) to increase the engine RPM when the AC engages at idle speed. | |

| Possibly. It is, after all, a spacer. What is more important is the outside diameter and stroke length. | |

| I have bought some parts from Japan. They were removed from a genuine S1 Luce Legato LA43S (Wankel engine). I removed the S2 digital clock I fitted originally and replaced it with an original analogue style digital clock. I think it looks much better! | |

| Another modification i have made recently. I now have S2 929L electric mirrors. In Australia, our S2 came with chrome exterior electric mirrors. I removed a wiring harness from a wreck and modified to suit my car, and fitted the driver side and passenger side door internal wiring harness. The plugs for central locking and electric windows are also part of this harness - I may fit these later because I have all electric locks, motors and controllers. The original manual operation door mirror: One of the forum members was wrecking his silver 929L, so I purchased his left hand mirror and some other parts. It is good to see French mirrors fade badly like Australian mirrors. I bought some paint to see if I could find a similar colour to factory. The test mirror looked ok. Then, a pair of chrome S2 mirrors were for sale in Queensland. I purchased and test fitted the right hand side. Perfect alignment with existing holes. Then began the fitment of the left hand mirror: Remove old aftermarket mirror Check position of the mirror mounts Make the inside reinforcement plate for the mirror. It is 5mm thick aluminium: Fit the door harnesses: Right hand Left hand Modify and route the wiring: Cut and remove 1m of excess factory wiring! Crimp on new terminals and fit new plugs. Fit a Luce Legato mirror controller panel, I purchased from Japan. It also has the JDM side marker light switch fitted. I also have these waiting to be fitted. The S2 panel also normally has a silver fascia decal fitted. I removed it Original switch panel New old switch panel fitted into place. Voilà. So much better to now have matching mirrors with electric operation | |
